What's with 'i' before 'e?'

What's with 'i' before 'e?'
What is up with that rule? What about weird? Doesn't he feel lonely?!?! The english language is so weird...they have all of these different rules and exceptions to everything!! I think learning English as a second language would be so difficult! And it just keeps growing!! There's like 4x more words now then there were in Shakspeare's time. Some examples are; blog, internet, phone, photo, etc. It's CrAzY!!! And now we have TONS of ways to say everything! ex. good>not bad>great>unawful>awesome>wonderful>amazing>etc. <LET'S STOP THE MADNESS!!! O.o
